I was dreaming of visiting this district from quite a bit time. At the same time my colleague gokulal planned for the "Nenmara Vallangi vela" in palakkad district. This vela is with typical performance from the village people along with the Pancha vaadhya troop and the famous elephants of kerala..
Festival will be held in the month of april(Mostly 2nd or 3rd april)
One good thing is that the two villages namely Nenmara and Vallangi will have a separate group for each of them to perform.... Thus a healthy competition between these two adjacent villages....
People from all around the districts will come to visit this festival...... It will be a whole one day celebration with the pooja at the temples with the panchavaadhya performance at the end. The procession of the respective deity will be carried in the major village road.. Thousands of people visit the villages for the festival.
The major attraction of the festival is the fireworks carried by both the villages in the evening and the early morning next day which signifies the end of the festival.....This decide which village gave the best performance.... The fireworks will be so loud and colorful that you cant imagine....
This festival is of new kind to me from karnataka and enjoyed the every bit of it......
Hats off to the elephants and the panchavaadya troop.....
From now on i will go for the temple festival every year.... Big thanks to Gokulal, Mahesh and Vishnu for taking me to the festival...
